As anticipated earlier today, version 1.2 of our free flash slideshow is being released! The updated documentation is included in the zip-file, and can also be read online. The license hasn’t changed.
In this new version of the flash slideshow, it will be possible to specify the target window of the link. Until now, clicking on the slide (assuming links are enabled) always opened a new window. But from the new version on, you’ll have the possibility to choose from four possible targets:
- the current frame in the current window
- a new window
- the parent of the current frame
- the top-level frame in the current window.
Have fun! And please continue to write your problems, comments, ideas.

it would be nice if there was a demo or something to see how it looks before downloading it.
There is, just look at the top right of this website
Of course, almost everything about the look is customizable, so it’s just one example of an infinity of possibilities.
Hi, I went ahead and implemented this as a test in my website. But I have got to a major issue. It doesnt allow .swf files to be put into rotation? Is that right. And if so is there a way around this? I really only need this to be used to display flash files themseleves. I cant find anywhere a list of what images/files are allowed in the slidehow? I know it says slides, so one may think that .swf wouldnt count as a slide, but as we all know, static flash files are a damn site smaller than jpg/gif/png etc.
Pleae advise accordingly.
Hi Phil,
).
Sorry for the late answer, but I’ve been on holiday, and I’ve only checked the support forum (which is where support questions should be asked
Yes, for WordPress the slide show right now only exists as a widget. Here you can find a description of how to use it in a post. I guess you could use the same technique to add it to your header.
As you noticed, the slide show accepts only gif, jpeg and png images. It might be an idea to expand this to .swf files as well in a future version. Right now it isn’t possible to use .swf files because of the way the slide show flash component works.
And no, so far I didn’t receive any borders
. If you want to send me some, that would be great.
