Hi Tanja, thanks for your interest in the slide show. Next time though, please ask support questions in the support forum.
Now, about your questions:
- You don’t have to worry about ‘step 4′. You found those steps in the User Guide for the ‘do-it-yourself’ version of the slide show, and you have a Joomla website, and installed the joomla module. Right? So once installed, all you have to do is set the settings in the joomla modules admin panel. Like you do for every other joomla module.
- Those errors indicate that the joomla module can’t create the two xml files it needs inside its folder (modules/mod_ccslideshow). Without these files the slide show won’t work, so you’ll have to make sure the permissions for that folder are set correctly. Try 755 (this should work) and if it doesn’t work, then try 777.
You can also wait for the next version of the slide show (currently under development), which should eliminate the problem completely. I can’t tell you yet when it will be released though.

Iam new, but have found the reviews on your creativ clans slideshow very nice…
I have installed the modul but can not understand step 4:

4.Copy the code in the index.html example file in the package, and paste it into your page’s code

Is the code: encoding=”utf-8″
and how do i paste it into my page code… is there a tutorials for this somewhere…

I get following error message on my frontend:
What Iam i doing wrong? – Can you please help me.. or point out where to look!

Hello Phil, thanks for your feedback. Next week I’ll adjust one of the errors (& instead of &) that showed up at validation. The other errors depend on the EMBED tag, which isn’t standard, but is needed to load flash objects in for example FireFox.
I could get rid of that non compliant tag, but I would have to use javascript, which has its own drawbacks (not everybody has it enabled). So that’s not an acceptable solution for me.
Use of the embed tag inside the object tag when handling flash objects is generally used and accepted, even if it doesn’t validate. So until all browsers support the object tag, or the embed tag is added to the standard, I won’t be able to change this.
I hope you can live with this answer

Hi,

thanks for the nice module.
Unfortunately there is one bad thing: That module is not fulfilling the W3C recommendations, so its not valid.

I think thats a thing you should change to make the module even more better.
